The Senior Contracting Specialist Managed Care will develop and negotiate owned and affiliated partner companies' ancillary and hospital service contracts on behalf of Hackensack Meridian Health in accordance with established rate and language parameters.

 

Candidates should be experienced in all aspects of Managed Care Contracting including a full and comprehensive knowledge of contractual language and redlining of associated documents.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Senior Contracting Specialist Managed Care at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Managed Care Contract Negotiation: Develop and negotiate owned and affiliated partner companies ancillary and hospital service contracts on behalf of Hackensack Meridian Health in accordance with established rate and language parameters.
  • Responsible for the coordination of completion of credentialing and recredentialing for assigned payer/partner companies within payer time frames. Demonstrate advanced managed care contract negotiation skills within a hospital, medical group, or health plan environment.
  • Contract Development: Address operational, financial, and service issues with assigned payers, and facilitate contract implementation within key operational areas throughout the organization.
  • Work with department and service leaders in resolving contract related issues and contract development and performance.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with internal and external customers including community network providers, health plans, medical groups and other payers to resolve contract-related operational issues in a timely manner.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or a Healthcare related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in facility and ancillary provider reimbursement mechanisms.
  • Demonstrates analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Knowledge of NJ Managed Care marketplace.
