Neurology Residency Program Director

 

The Department of Neurology at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC), a major academic medical center within the Hackensack Meridian Health system, seeks to employ a full-time position in neurology with protected time as Program Director of the newly created Neurology Residency. Candidates will be board certified in Neurology and have extensive graduate medical education experience, with at least 3-5 years in Neurology residency leadership roles. Faculty appointment at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine (HMSOM) is a requirement with rank commensurate with experience. The Neurology Residency is newly created, and will be recruiting for July 2026, with a total of 12 positions. It is a categorical program with guaranteed Y1 positions with the HUMC Internal Medicine residency program. HUMC Neurology provides a full-time stroke service and neurocritical care (NCC) service as well as inpatient Neurology consultations. HUMC is a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center, serving over 800 total stroke patients/year, supported by 8 vascular neurologists, 4 neurointerventional specialists, and 10 APNs. The NCC program features 7 NCC providers & 11 APPs providing care in a brand new, state-of-the-art facility. HUMC Neurology also provides a robust outpatient practice in a separate brand new clinic with multiple interprofessional subspecialty centers of excellence.

 

The position will be recruited for by Florian P. Thomas, MD, PhD, Founding Chair and Professor of Neurology at HUMC & HMSOM and Colum F. Amory, MD, MPH, Stroke Chief and Interim Residency Program Director and Professor of Neurology at HUMC and HMSOM.

Starting Minimum Rate

Starting at $241,941 Annually
