The Radiology Coordinator coordinates efforts related to responsibilities of Imaging technical staff, including scheduling the day-to-day flow. Liaison between staff, physicians and leadership team.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Radiology Coordinator at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

 

1. Operational: Orders and maintains department supplies within operational budget. Schedules needed equipment without interfering with operational needs.
2. PACs: Together with PACS coordinator, reviews each case on PACs system for quality control. Monitor the backup process. Supports workflow, mapping and troubleshoots issues. Performs file management activities including archival, re-org, or deletion of aged or inactives.
3. Technology: Incorporates new technology, and ensures all technical staff skills are up to date. Troubleshoots common technical problems. Communicates with service engineers when needed. Keeps key people (staff, management, physicians) informed of equipment changes, etc.
4. Technical Responsibilities: When needed, works as an efficient technologist following expected high quality imaging protocols. Acts as a role model for technologists and students.
5. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
6. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

1. Bachelor's or equivalent experience.
2. Experience as a Technologist.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.


Licenses and Certifications Required:

1. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.

 

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

1. Nuclear Medical Technologist License.
2. Diagnostic Radiography License.
3. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification.
4. Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
