The Supervisor, Ultrasound OB GYN plans, organizes, and directs the work of staff personnel specific to assigned modality.

 

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Supervisor, Ultrasound OB GYN at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Develops and monitors policies and procedures governing the operation of assigned modalities. Accurately records equipment and supply usage; records, reports, and acts upon equipment malfunctions; knowledge of location of all equipment and supplies for all procedures; works with management in developing standard protocols of assigned departments.
  • Evaluates and recommends specifications for imaging technology and equipment. Manages an organized purchasing system, and performs within budget. Reviews monthly expenses and develops and implements systems to meet budget targets. Influential in preparing annual capital and operational budgets.
  • Maintain safe radiation practices and diagnostic accuracy with regard to patient care and staff. Evaluates the quality and accuracy of radiographs and takes corrective action when needed. Monitors adherence to radiation safety procedures and protocols with special regard to the technical aspects of radiological safety. Reviews and reports on record.
  • Maintains radiological services in accordance with medical staff, state, local, and federal agency regulations. Assists the medical director in developing protocols and procedures as required. Prepares and maintains records relative to licensing requirements of the Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Radiation Protection, Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
  • Serves as clinical resource to team: Reviews and discusses problem cases; resolves problems concerning the provision of services for patients. Consistently produces and labels properly exposed images using digital computerized and conventional film technology.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Graduate of an approved Ultrasound School.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in an Ultrasound Department.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Clinical leadership experience.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification. 
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
