The Supply Coordinator dispenses medical/surgical supplies to all user departments and outpatients in a prompt and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment/Supply Room: Keeps the equipment/ supply room neat and orderly on a daily basis. Reports any issues to management.
  • Meeting set-ups: All set ups completed promptly and accurately in advance of the start of all meetings. Utilizes meeting set-up binder for daily events. Appropriate table and chair set-ups used. Room cleared of all peripheral items not used for the meeting.
  • Moves: Utilizes established moves book for planned moves. Executes moves accurately, thoroughly and neatly in a timely manner. Provides friendly, cooperative service.
  • Regulatory Guidelines: Meets all regulatory guidelines including those by NJDOH, JCAHO, and OSHA. No deficiencies found in assigned areas during regulatory inspections.
  • Supplies paper, plastic, and soap deliveries: Accurately and completely delivers paper, plastic, soap and linen to all units, janitor closets and outside sites. 
  • Supply Inventory: Assures that all supplies are brought in from the loading dock and stored away in a timely and thorough fashion. Maintains appropriate par levels through accurate inventory for ordering.
  • Monthly reports: Assists Nurse Manager in review of monthly financial reports. Responsible for ensuring that report is printed and available for analysis. Reviews the report to identify pricing or quantity discrepancies
  • Ongoing Support: Schedules weekly meetings with the Nurse Manager or Department head to review supply status and prepare orders to satisfy weekend use (census is reviewed at this time).
  • Organization: Organization of Stock locations and System maintenance. Work with the Nurse Manager or Department Head to organize the stockroom. This should be reviewed at least quarterly.
  • Communicates Effectively: Carries a walkie-talkie and in-house phone on a daily basis. 
  • Recalls: Manages product recalls. Responds to product recalls as required to meet the due date. 
  • Receipts: Records receipts appropriately. Gets signatures from departments when delivering special orders. 
  • Receiving: Verifies/signs for incoming supplies. All receipts are signed, documented and maintained in department files.
  • Stock: Restocks shelves. In-stock position is maintained at 97%.
  • Warehouse: Maintains an orderly warehouse. Rack in the warehouse is cleared within 48 hours.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Ability to push, pull, walk or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 25-50 pounds.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a hospital setting. 
  • PeopleSoft experience.

Starting Minimum Rate

Starting at $20.32 Hourly

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
