The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (‘ABSN”) Student is a pre-NCLEX per diem job position with HMH, tailored for students accepted into the ABSN Employment Bonus Program (“ABSN Student”).

The ABSN Student will complete HMH orientation modules, learning experiences, and may be exposed to the clinical environments in which they will work as a Registered Nurse upon successfully graduating from their ABSN academic program and passing the NCLEX exam. Generally, the per diem hours will be performed remotely.

As part of this program, the ABSN student will focus on graduating from an ABSN program and becoming a Registered Nurse and learning the skills and components of being part of the healthcare team. The ABSN Student will have the ability to be exposed to the acute care environment to prepare for transition into practice.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of an ABSN Student at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

 

  • Actively focuses on completion of their academic ABSN program and successfully passing the NCLEX.
  • Learns and understands the Nursing Strategic Plan and Quality Outcome drivers that impact patient care.
  • Participates in select HMH training and orientation.
  • Has the opportunity to gain exposure on how to create a safe patient environment by learning the principles of a high reliability organization.
  • Participates in learning experiences with the goal to educate the student on different aspects of nursing at HMH.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Enrolled in an accredited ABSN academic program in New Jersey or Pennsylvania.
  • Resides in New Jersey or Pennsylvania.
  • Has been accepted into and maintains eligibility for the HMH ABSN Employment Bonus Program.
  • Has executed an ABSN Employment Bonus Program Agreement.
  • Successfully completes HMH background check, drug screen, and occupational health assessment.
  • Provides sufficient documentation to demonstrate that they are eligible to work in the United States and maintains eligibility to work in the United States during their employment.

Starting Minimum Rate

Flat Rate of $19 Hourly
