Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Director of Financial Aid include:

Development, implementation and evaluation of Financial Aid Administration of the Schools of Nursing and Medical Imaging.

  • Maintain a close liaison with the Director of Financial Aid at Union County College.
  • . Keep abreast of innovations and changes in financial aid regulations.
  •  Actively research potential sources of financial aid while monitoring with the designated scholarship fund accounts.
  •  Act as a resource person for financial aid information to students and assisting students with the completion of required documentation.
  •  Oversee, develop, and revise financial aid policies in compliance with federal regulations.
  •  Determine and develop student cost of attendance budgets in order to determine student awards and notify students of their eligibility and responsibilities.
  •  Communicate with appropriate departments of the State and Federal governments to ensure compliance with Financial Aid Program regulations.
  •  Work closely with the JFK Medical Center and Muhlenberg Snyder Schools' fiscal, admission and registration departments in the operation of financial aid programs.
  •  Maintain and share with colleagues as appropriate, personal knowledge of all issues related to financing higher education
  •  Prepare all annual and interim applications and financial reports in compliance with Title IV regulations, such as the Program Participation Agreement and the annual FISAP.
  •  Oversee the U.S. Department of Education's electronic data exchange software, which includes application, Pell Grant program and student loan funding through the Department of Education Common Origination and Disbursement website and maintaining an electronic student database required by Title IV regulations.
  •  Prepare and set up the Department of Education's Financial Aid software to meet the institution's student award packaging philosophy.
  •  Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  •  Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education , Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in appropriate business field or equivalent experience
  • In lieu of degree, a min. of 2 yrs exp in financial aid services at college level will be accepted
  •  Computer skills
