The Vice President, Operations, HUMC is responsible for the coordination and oversight of operations and responsible for promoting high standards of practice through development of policies, protocols, and practice guidelines; as well as by leading areas according to disciplined metrics as set forth by the organization's strategic plans. Leads daily operations, interprets changes in the marketplace, generates ideas, and participates in initiatives that increase our market advantage.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Vice President, Operations, HUMC at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Responsible for leadership in coordinating the service components of the Operations Division.
  • Responsible for providing leadership and operational oversight of all areas.
  • Provides day-to-day direction guided by the Strategic Plan, focusing the activities of these Divisions to accomplish the goals of the Medical Center in the context of Hackensack University Medical Center's Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Provides ongoing information about the activities and accomplishments of the Medical Center's staff to the Senior Vice President through daily contact.
  • Develops a strategic short and long-term strategies for the Operations area.
  • Reviews and approves the operating and capital budget packages as a step in the compilation of the entire Medical Center's budget process.
  • Reviews a monthly fiscal performance of the operating divisions and oversees purchases of supplies and services within the Medical Center's guidelines.
  • Serves, as assigned, to membership in Community Organizations and as a liaison with other health care and professional organizations.
  • Directs the operational aspects of the implementation of new programs in concert with the Strategic Plan of Hackensack Meridian Health.
  • Insures the delivery of all services within the guidelines of the Joint Commission and all other regulatory agencies upon whom the Medical Center depends for licensure and accreditation.

 

 

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • A minimum of ten years hospital administrative experience.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in a health-related field is preferred.

Starting Minimum Rate

Starting at $301,059.20 Annually

Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the organization.
Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.


Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
