The Cardiovascular Regulatory Abstractor, Registered Nurse- Per Diem is responsible for the review and abstraction of cardiovascular registry data to ensure compliance of the data collection and submission to quality reporting metrics of the Cardiovascular Care Transformation Service (CTS).

Responsibilities

A day in the life of aCardiovascular Regulatory Abstractor, Registered Nurse- Per Diem at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Under the direction of the CV CTS Registry Leadership, CV Data Registry Administrator, reviews data submission elements, reports trends, and initiates higher level review by CV CTS APN and or CV Registry physician champion.
  • Performs data abstraction and prepares harvest and correlated reports from various sources for the CV Data Registry Administrator.
  • Abstracts health information from the patient's electronic medical record into Cardiovascular registry databases.
  • Follows processes and systems for abstraction of data for submission to external and internal reporting.Facilitates and collaborates with PI teams and related departments for data indicator abstraction process.
  • Performs process improvement activities as directed by the CV CTS APN team and CTS leadership.
  • Makes recommendations to Cardiovascular CTS in the design of processes related to field to field mapping methodology for data element collection.
  • Monitors compliance with corrective action plans to reduce the frequency of abstraction errors.
  • Assists the CV Data Registry Administrator and CTS leadership in the development and design of process for reporting and projects such as: NCDR, STS, VQI, TJC, CMS, and various data needs at the federal, state, and accrediting bodies, as well as PI nitiatives and public reporting.
  • Under the direction of the CV Registry Administrator, performs and follows the processes for public reporting responsibilities.
  • Supports Cardiovascular CTS administration as needed for special projects.
  • Helps maintain multiple cardiovascular registries and databases.
  • Develops specialized reports based on special requests for information from management, service lines, etc.
  • Prepares accurate, timely reports, documents, and presentations utilizing various application software.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
  • Lifts a minimum of 10 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 20 lbs. and stands a minimum of less than 1 hour a day.

 

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

 

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Informatics or related field.
  • Experience in Cardiac Regulatory Agency Data Reporting.
  • Experience in cardiovascular data abstraction.
  • Cardiovascular clinical experience preferred.

 

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.

Starting Minimum Rate

Starting at $45.94 Hourly

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
