The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Supply Associate is responsible for transporting Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) or JFK EMS items needed within the Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) network. Additionally, this role assists with inventory of EMS supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of an EMS Supply Associate at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

 

  • Picks up and delivers materials from Distribution to EMS departments throughout the JFK Medical Center, Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) EMS facilities, and other locations as required.
  • Returns used and unused supplies to the Medical Center.
  • Delivers medication and blood products to all EMS sites, adhering to safe handling as per HUMC policy.
  • Weekly pickup and delivery of all pantry supplies; restock the pantries, ordering of all pantry supplies.
  • Maintains inventory of all EMS supplies and logs on a weekly basis, escalating ordering needs to the Logistics team.
  • Transfers supplies, equipment and vehicles from one site to another.
  • Assists in the transfer of equipment and supplies between EMS vehicles.
  • Makes weekly rounds to assure that essential equipment for patient care is available to the staff and supplements supplies where needed.
  • Orders routine supplies and completes all forms, purchase requisitions and follows up on questions from other departments (i.e. Accounts Receivable, Purchasing and Receiving) as needed.
  • Assists in maintaining the cleanliness of supply storage areas.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Experience in healthcare inventory.
  • Experience in transporting equipment and supplies.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • Valid Driver's License from a USA state.

Starting Minimum Rate

Starting at $18.23 Hourly

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
