Our team members are the heart of what makes us better. At Hackensack Meridian Health we help our patients live better, healthier lives — and we help one another to succeed. With a culture rooted in connection and collaboration, our employees are team members. Here, competitive benefits are just the beginning. It’s also about how we support one another and how we show up for our community. Together, we keep getting better - advancing our mission to transform healthcare and serve as a leader of positive change.
Our Crisis Team serves the pediatric and adult populations. Our main interaction is with the ED and inpatient psychiatric units. We perform 24 hour emergency evaluations, and each patient is seen by a clinician. The patient's case is reviewed with an Advanced Practice Nurse or Psychiatrist, and a disposition is made. This could be for outpatient referrals, inpatient hospitalization or commitment through Monmouth Medical.
Crisis is fast paced and high volume, so the environment challenges nurses and clinicians to hone in on their skills so that they can both work with other team members but also make independent decisions. It's a good place to sharpen skills. Skills learned/used in Crisis are very transferable to other areas of healthcare.
