The Preadmission Coordinator Assistant facilitates the professional management of the JFK/JRI Client Service intake process by assisting and supporting the Preadmission Coordinators with intake to maintain ongoing relationships with referral sources. Coordinate patient placement by collaboration with Preadmission Coordinators and Department Head. Develop and document standardized intake processes that facilitate efficiency and adhere to JFK/JRI regulations. Collaborates on development of marketing. Provide support to the department including coverage of department secretary as needed. Makes sales calls, facilitates marketing by assisting Department Head and interacting with patients and families as needed.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Preadmission Coordinator Assistant  at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

 

  • Collaborates with Preadmission Coordinators, referrers and Department Head to ensure appropriate placement decisions are being executed to ensure the following: patient safety, efficient use of beds and resources, timely transfers, effective, consistent communication.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify insurance appropriate admissions and assist Preadmission Coordinators with any necessary alerts that would impede the admission process. Demonstrates use of customer services skills when communicating with referral resources to gather additional information.
  • Responsible to review all electronic referral venues, (Allscripts, Adobe), receive incoming telephone calls from referral sources at various facilities and actively manage communication with respective Pre Admission Coordinator to facilitate completion of referral.
  • Demonstrates effective communication with referral sources, patients and families to provide information for services offered at JFK/JRI. Assist with coordination of tours, manage marketing resources (brochures, pamphlets, etc.). Assist Preadmission Coordinators with scheduling lectures, lunches, and fairs at various referring facilities.
  • Tasks as assigned to support the 'Client Services Department' including: Follow-up calls to discharged patients for program feedback. Data entry for Stroke Recovery Program. Other department tasks as assigned, including coverage for department secretaries as needed.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years sales and business experience.
  • College Degree Preferred 
  • EPIC knowledge favorable

Starting Minimum Rate

Starting at $20.32 Hourly
