The Digital Technology Services (DTS) Business Operations Analyst plays a critical support role within the DTS department by supporting key aspects of reporting and data analysis at Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH). Responsible for gathering report requirements, building and maintaining reports and dashboards, and assisting with strategic initiatives related to process improvement and resource planning. Will develop a strong foundation in operational analytics, stakeholder engagement, and digital transformation within a healthcare Information Technology (IT) environment.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of an Digital Technology Services (DTS) EPIC Digital Specialist at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Serve as a key resource for building, updating, and maintaining operational reports and dashboards that support transparency and decision-making across DTS. 
  • Gather reporting requirements from DTS stakeholders through interviews and collaborative sessions. 
  • Assist in translating reporting data into actionable outputs.
  • Perform data validation through quality checks to ensure accuracy and integrity of reports.
  • Assist in monitoring workforce management data and reconcile discrepancies, including but not limited to DTS time tracking data. 6. Collaborate with DTS leadership to prepare recurring and ad hoc reports.
  • Assist in documenting and visualizing business processes to support process improvement initiatives.
  • Support the collection and analysis of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to monitor DTS team effectiveness and progress.
  • Help identify trends and/or gaps in data and provide recommendations for improvement and optimization under the guidance of senior management. 
  • Participate in quarterly and annual strategic planning discussions by contributing relevant data and insights. 
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned. 
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, business administration, or other relevant area of study. 
  • Minimum of 1 or more years of experience in data analysis and modeling, preferably in business operations, healthcare, or IT.
  • Ability to create requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Ability to conduct research into issues as required.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot data and reporting issues. 
  • Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Experience generating insights from analysis on large data sets to drive business decisions.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders across organizational boundaries. 
  • Experience in data analysis with intermediate/advanced Google Workspace skills. 
  • Passion for the intersection between healthcare, technology, and analytics.

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations.

Starting Minimum Rate

Starting at $82,513.60 Annually

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
