To replenish supplies in Raritan Bay Medical Center's Perth Amboy and Old Bridge Divisions

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Restock Tech at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Restock all items in the Omni Supplier & Exchange carts to their PAR levels.
  • Replenishes all items in the Omni Supplier & Exchange carts which have reached either their reorder or critical low level. All items are restocked to their pre-determined and designated PAR levels.
  • Performs critically low restock before 2PM each Monday, Wednesday, & Friday to insure no items stock out before the regular scheduled normal restock. All critically low stock for exchange carts to be reported to Manager before 2 PM as the event occurs.
  • Performs weekly cycle counts on all items in the Omni Supplier to maintain product supply accuracy.
  • Insure that all supplies with expiration dates are properly rotated with current dates placed in the back.
  • Physically counts only those items which are to be restocked for the day before the restock items are added to the Omni Supplier & Exchange carts to insure accuracy of supplies.
  • Removes defective supplies from the Omni Supplier and Exchange carts and reports this to Head Nurse and Manager of Distribution for replacement.
  • Utilizes supplement restock system for Omni Supplier removing the item from STAT stores as needed.
  • Responsible for checking and receiving all medical supplies and insures all receipts are in proper order.
  • Receives all medical supplies for the Omni Supplier & Exchange carts by checking the item against the bin label description before placing the item in appropriate location. 
  • Insures receipts are in proper order by comparing the receipts against the computer requisition orders daily and writes in the discrepancies after the Omni Supplier & Exchange carts are restocked. 
  • Insures that backorders are filled daily with incoming stock. 
  • Reports all discrepancies to the Manager of Distribution for follow-up due to an error in the order the day of restock.
  • Gives report to head nurse of back orders that occur the day the supplier is filled and follows up with Manager of Distribution 
  • Responsible for maintaining Omni Supplier & Exchange carts free of excess medical supplies. 
  • Insures all incoming supplies with expiration dates have a life expectancy of three months. 
  • Responsible to insure all incoming supplies are placed within cells or put onto cart and none are left unattended.
  • Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of trends and new developments in the Medical Center.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Six months experience with inventory control
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Preferably good math skills and reading skills

Starting Minimum Rate

Minimum rate of $17.32 Hourly
