Linen worker is responsible for all the movement of linen throughout the building. Also responsible for the linen cuts for each day including but not limited to OR packs and every day linens(Blankets, sheets, towels, etc.)

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Linen Worker at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • The logs that are required by the Linen Worker are Linen Log, Soiled Linen Log, Clean Linen Log, Linen distribution sheet. Also responsible for linen and OR Pack cuts on a daily basis and to weigh Clean and Soiled linen daily. 
  • Delivery of clean and pick up of soiled through out the facility and occasionally the outside buildings.
  • Communicates and works closely with the Linen Manager and the Hospitality Management Team also keeps constant communication with the Call Center and updates lunch status in EPIC System.
  • Neatly fold scrubs and place them into the machines through out the facility and outer building.
  • Ensure that everyday by 10:00AM the linen room is cleaned and organized by types of linen.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Must have knowledge as to how to use and understand pagers.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Entry level position. Experience in Linen Services, medical experience, and patient contact preferred. On the job training will be provided by the team members and the linen services staff.

Starting Minimum Rate

Minimum rate of $17.19 Hourly
