About JFK Muhlenberg and Snyder Schools

The JFK Muhlenberg Harold B. and Dorothy A. Snyder Schools, an entity of Hackensack Meridian Health in Plainfield, New Jersey, offers accredited programs in nursing and medical imaging. As part of a larger healthcare system, the schools offer a supportive learning environment with expert faculty and resources. In partnership with Union College, students in the nursing, radiography, and diagnostic medical sonography programs can earn an associate in science degree in addition to a diploma in their chosen field. The School of Nursing provides multiple tracks, including generic, accelerated, and LPN-to-RN options, while the School of Medical Imaging prepares students for their board exams through comprehensive coursework and clinical rotations.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Assistant must provide integrated student services to JFK SONMI students, families, and staff in the main area of Enrollment Services. Additionally, the assistant registrar is equipped with a broad knowledge of campus resources and services. As a vital resource for the JFK SONMI community, it is essential for assistant registrar to provide outstanding customer service. The assistant registrar must exhibit excellent problem-solving skills. Additionally, the assistant registrar must engage in sensitive conversations related to academic success. The assistant registrar may be asked to serve on various committees, engage in professional development and provide campus and community outreach.


Counseling, Advising and Processing

  • Counsel, advise, investigate, problem-solve, and resolve questions and issues from current and previous students, parents, staff, academic departments, other third parties, and the public.
  • Review academic progress and monitor changes each semester.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

Community Outreach & Other Duties as Assigned

  • Present orientation and other related presentations to students, parents, and other JFK SONMI staff.
  • Attend as needed: Admitted Student Days, Open Houses, Admission events, New and Transfer Student Orientations, etc.
  • Serve on committees as needed.
  • Events can include evening.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • AS degree required
  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • Candidates with at least 2 years of proven experience in administrative roles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to write clear, concise letters using effective writing skills.
  • Sensitive to cultural diversity and ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of all ages and identities.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and make independent decisions, responsible for decisions.
  • Highly motivated, focused, and results oriented.
  • Ability to meet expectations in a fast-paced and dynamic, customer-oriented environment.
  • Admin or registrar experience preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with PeopleSoft Campus, including institutional policies, procedures, and processes a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, etc.), student records (PeopleSoft Campus)

Starting Minimum Rate

Minimum rate of $25.38 Hourly
