A Supervisor Pharmacy organizes and manages daily Pharmacy Department operations to ensure efficient, safe and timely accomplishment of established patient-focused duties and expectations. Troubleshoot internal department issues and implement appropriate resolutions. Act as liaison between Pharmacy and other healthcare professionals as necessary. Cover for absence of Pharmacy Manager.
A day in the life of a Supervisor of Pharmacy at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
1. Responsible for achieving any accreditations necessary to remain operational or maximize revenues.(e.g. Medicaid, Medicare,, TJC, DMEPOS)
2. Identifies and corrects potential problems and performs service recovery as needed.
3. Troubleshoots daily interactions and instances that deviate from standard and require oversight or mediation for resolution.
4. Assist Manager in development and implementation of process improvement projects within Pharmacy. Responsible for implementation of site quality assurance processes.

6. Review, update and revise department policies to reflect professional standards of practice and progressive department development.
7. Implement policies as necessary and assure all affected team members are appropriately informed.
8. Manages and/or assists in the recruitment, development and supervision of team members.
9. Creates and sustains an environment that fosters team member engagement.
10. Establishes clear objectives tied to department and/or organizational strategic goals.
11. Coaches, counsels and evaluates performance of direct reports.
12. Involved in the development and/or management of budget for assigned areas.
13. Regularly monitors relevant key financial indicators and performance metrics, modifying business activities where needed in response to changing financial situations.
14. Track, analyze, and report on relevant data and metrics as needed and/or requested.
15. Develop, recommend and/or implement actions or process improvements as appropriate.
16. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
17. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Science Pharmacy.
2. Minimum of 2 years experience in Hospital Pharmacy.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
1. PharmD preferred.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
1. Must be a NJ Licensed Pharmacist with an active license
