The Manager, New Business is responsible for the research and evaluation of new business strategies that bring innovation to Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH). This evaluation will include the assessment of clinical need, research of emerging trends, determining financial viability, regulatory impact and internal stakeholder champions. This position will work with internal stakeholders to develop business plans in support of new business concepts. Once new business ideas are approved, the position will assist in the project management of new business lines towards implementation.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Manager, New Business at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Responsible for research and evaluation of new business opportunities that emerge from various pipelines such as Allspire, The Academy or other external partnerships.
  • Conduct evaluations of prospective opportunities - including an assessment of clinical/ operational needs within the organization.
  • Develop business plans to vet out the financial viability of new opportunities. This will include partnership with operational stakeholders as well as finance, IT, etc using existing HMH pathways for project intake.
  • Once concepts are approved by POPTAC, the Manager would identify workgroup members needed for project planning and lead the group towards implementation.
  • Determine outcome measurements to be associated with each new business.
  • Works with leadership, including Reimagine HMH, to develop a 3 year New Business Plan for HMH.
  • Supports strategy and regional business development efforts when requested due to Network strategic importance or bandwidth constraints.
  • Develops a Network dashboard and metrics to evaluate success and barriers.
  • Monitor disruptors and identify opportunities for partnerships.
  • Prepares presentation for opportunities for Executive Strategy, Strategic Planning Committee of the Board and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Supports new ventures until full-time executives are identified and onboarded for new businesses.
  • Monitors compliance with reimbursement and regulatory agency standards and requirements. Develops and maintains policies and procedures that ensure compliance and mitigate risk. Keeps abreast and is knowledgeable of applicable regulations and funding opportunities as well as standards to aid staff in achieving compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders such as Care Transformation Service leadership and Physician Enterprise leaders to develop clinically valid and financially viable new business solutions.
  • Schedules site visits with appropriate clinical and operation management across the hospital, clinics and call center offices as well as other participating sites as appropriate.
  • Works closely with Design and Construction and other contractors to ensure optimal design and room layout when appropriate.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Administration, Healthcare, Development, and Technical Area of expertise.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Planning, Consumer Industry, Health Care services development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Master's degree.

Starting Minimum Rate

Starting at $111,924.80 Annually

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
