The Manager, Radiology Operations will work collaboratively and effectively with the Director and Chair of Radiology to develop and implement policy and procedure along with programs and workflows to support quality, finance and growth of the department.  The Manager, Radiology Operations is responsible for the daily operations of imaging support functions and clinical operations, as needed.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Manager of Radiology Operations at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

 

1.  Leads the radiology support team and other assigned radiology employee teams to ensure high performance, reliable service, staff engagement, and accountability
2.  Leads with effective problem solving, including active listening, maintaining impartiality, confidentiality, and appropriately balancing the needs with available resources and constraints. 
3.  Ensures proper staffing levels, timely recruitment of a high-quality workforce, proper orientation and training of new employees, employee development, effective coordination of daily activities, and employee satisfaction within the workplace.
4.  Ensures that all credentialing, State and JC standards are met in collaboration with modality leaders.
5.  Provides statistical, financial and research reports as requested by faculty or radiology leaders
6.  Provides data analysis, trending and data presentation as requested by the faculty or radiology leaders
7.  Coordinates and tracks all research activities by maintaining an accurate database and periodically conducting audits
8.  Collaborates with revenue representative to audit and manage billing interphases
9.  Collaborates with director of radiology to track grants, faculty and department contracts
10. Oversees operating budgets, capital requests in collaboration with director of radiology and modality leaders
11. Provides analysis and variance reporting for radiology operating budgets
12. Participates as an important member of the department's management team to help address and resolve broad management/administrative issues such as planning for future programs and services, procedure coding and revenue capture, cost monitoring and control, patient scheduling, patient and staff safety, workflows, operational monitoring, regulatory compliance, public relations and the overall timeliness and quality of services provided to customers in assigned sections and across the department
13. Leads specific, assigned projects to ensure on-time and on-budget completion to the highest standards
14. Leads teams to manage both small and large-scale projects in collaboration with Director of Radiology
15. Develops and implements communication plans for assigned projects
16. Maintains a database listing of radiology projects and associated progress
17. Leads or participates in Performance Improvement projects
18. Improves efficiency and processes using LEAN or other workflow improvement methods
19. Other duties and/or projects as assigned
20. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

1. Bachelor's degree
2. Minimum of 3 or more years of experience in healthcare business and/or operations
3. Intermediate knowledge of budgeting processes
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

 

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

1. Master's degree in business administration

 

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

1. Certified in any imaging modality

Starting Minimum Rate

Minimum rate of $106,329.60 Annually

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
