Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Staffing Coordinator at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Records messages with 95% accuracy.
  • Demonstrates ability to key punch payroll corrections with 95% accuracy.
  • Provides staffing information. Acts as a liaison with the Directors and the Nursing office.
  • Records and maintains records of sick and absent time.
  • Input time changes into schedules/ automated time and attendance system.
  • Communicates to Directors/Nursing Supervisors all pertinent staffing issues to maintain staffing records.
  • Ensures delivery of excellent customer service resulting in positive and improving patient satisfaction scores for the department and Medical Center.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and rationale for safe use of equipment; reports any equipment malfunctions and orders service as necessary.
  • Participates in the orientation of newly employed personnel and of unit personnel performing their assigned duties.
  • Attends all JCAHO required in-services annually.
  • Regularly updates knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the ages of patients served. 
  • Assists in developing, reviewing and revising staffing policies and procedures.
  • Supports and encourages a harmonious working relationship within the unit and with other disciplines and departments; promotes an environment in which the staffing office and Directors in team can work cooperatively toward objectives; motivates staff in a positive manner.
  • Demonstrates an alert, sensitive, and supportive attitude with staff.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: 

  • Previous secretarial experience.
  • Exposure to health care environment.
  • Knowledge of statistical reporting.

Starting Minimum Rate

Minimum rate of $23.97 Hourly
